Why did the McCanns refuse to use Private Detectives in the hunt for Madeleine?

The jigsaw is all fixing together. That is the reason why they would not use Private Detectives in the hunt for Madeleine, because they knew they had done something to her.

Yeah they thought private detectives might be too clever for them and find out too much.They didn't want to waste the fund money on finding poor Maddy because at that stage they wanted it to save their own skins
